About Felin Traeth Cottage


Felin Traeth Cottage is a spacious property located next door to Rhosneigr railway station and within walking distance to the beach (Traeth Crigyll). Located within close proximity to RAF Valley, you are able to watch the jets fly close by. Anglesey Golf Course is a short walk away (you can see it from the upstairs bedroom).

Rhosneigr has lovely beaches and is very popular for watersports. There are several restaurants in the area as well as pubs, shops and a village hall and library.

The property has a large driveway providing plenty of off road parking, a large private garden with a hot tub (available for an additional charge), four spacious bedrooms, a wet room, large family bathroom, dining room, snug, well equipped kitchen, lounge with multi fuel stove, utility room and lots of storage areas for coats and boots. WiFi is available to guests, the password is in our online guestbook and in the hallway.

When you enter the property through the front entrance (please note there are steps to the front entrance but none to the rear entrance), you are welcomed by a large hallway.

Walking through there is a large family bathroom to your right, consisting of a bath with an electric shower above, a toilet, double basin vanity unit with lots of storage.

Straight ahead is the dining room with seating for eight people. There is a music centre available for your use so please feel free to bring your vinyl, CD’s or cassettes or connect to the rechargeable Bluetooth speaker. There is a gas fire in this room (please refer to the instruction manual in the utility room).

Opposite the dining room is the staircase to the upstairs master bedroom. The bedroom is a large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes, a dressing table and a modern ensuite bathroom with double shower. There is a DVD TV in this room and a Google Chromecast (there is no TV aerial or satellite dish connection for this TV).

Along the downstairs corridor is a large modern kitchen with a fridge freezer, an eye level double oven, an induction hob, microwave, filter coffee machine, kettle and toaster. The well equipped kitchen has been equipped to allow you to cook meals if you desire.

Opposite the kitchen is the utility room with a washing machine and tumble drier, a Belfast sink with cold water only, an iron and ironing board, a vacuum cleaner, brush and mop.

Next to the kitchen is the cosy lounge, with stone wall detail. This room is part of the original stone cottage built circa 1850. There is an Aga multifuel stove fitted and a starter pack of coal and kindling is provided for guests staying October - March (some hints and tips on using the stove are in the online visitor information book). There is a TV with freesat, a DVD player, a Google Chromecast and a rechargeable Bluetooth speaker.

Opposite the lounge is the rear entrance to the property which takes you to the large rear garden and hot tub. The hot tub instructions are in the online visitor information book. From October-March, there is a patio table and chairs for eight guests available in the garden; we recommend wiping these down before use. There is also a daybed available from October-March for guests to use by the hot tub.

Along the corridor in the opposite direction is the snug, there is a piano in here and a dual motor Lazyboy reclining armchair which is perfect for guests with reduced mobility.

The snug leads through to the bedroom corridor, there is a wet room with a thermostatic shower, toilet, sink and vanity unity with lots of storage. The wet room is fitted with a safety floor.

Next to the wet room is a twin bedroom with an open wardrobe, chest of drawers, two bedside cabinets with a lamp on each and a full length mirror.

Next door is the second twin bedroom with a chest of drawers, lamp, wall mounted hanging rails and a full length mirror.

Along the corridor is a door to the rear garden and the kingsize bedroom. The bedroom has a kingsize modern four poster bed, a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two bedside cabinets and key operated double doors leading to the patio area. There is a TV with freesat, DVD player and Google Chromecast available for your use.

Well behaved, house trained cats and dogs are welcome. Please do not allow pets to go into any of the bedrooms or on any furniture within the property or gardens. Please see booking terms and conditions for all pet related details prior to booking.

Located in the grounds of the property are several ponds, the disused mill, a natural state field, owners sheds and an unused static caravan. These are all located behind fences and we ask guests not to go beyond the boundary that the fences provide as these areas are not provided within the rental of Felin Traeth Cottage.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, we have carried out a risk assessment and removed some items from the property to ensure that we can clean thoroughly within the changeover window. Please note the following changes:

  • The Welsh Government have announced that from Monday 14/09/20, only a maximum of six people from the extended household (https://gov.wales/guidance-extended-households-coronavirus#section-45763) will be able to meet indoors at any one time. Children under 11 will not be counted in the six. We will only be able to accept bookings that meet this criteria until relaxation of this rule.
  • The following are now available on request (please request prior to arrival so that our housekeeper can leave them accessible for you):
    • two travel cots
    • one baby monitor
    • one bed guard
    • two highchairs.
  • The games in the sideboard have been removed.
  • All DVDs have been removed.
  • The beach towels have been removed.
  • The picnic blankets, cool bags, plastic picnic crockery and cutlery and ice packs have been removed.
  • The toys in the lounge have been removed.
  • All throws, blankets and cushions have been removed from the bedrooms.
  • One floor cushion has been removed from the lounge, there is still seating for 8 (3 seater couch, 2 seater couch, 2 armchairs, 1 floor cushion).
  • The visitor information book is now online and information on how to access it will be sent with your property access email

 

If using the Book Now option please note that the change over days are Monday and Friday with a minimum stay of three nights. If you are booking the hot tub, it will be drained, cleaned and refilled on the day that you check in so will not be up to temperature for 12-24 hours.
